The Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) and the Office of the Surveyor General of the Federation (OSGF) are joining forces to enhance tourism development in Nigeria. The partnership aims to leverage geospatial data and digital mapping solutions to improve access to tourism destinations and boost visitor experience.
During a recent visit to OSGF headquarters in Abuja, NTDA Director General Ola Awakan emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing tourism growth. Surveyor General Abdulganiyu Adebomehin highlighted the OSGF’s valuable geospatial data, including street guide maps, which can support tourism development.
The partnership seeks to develop homegrown digital mapping platforms to complement global tools, improving navigation and visitor confidence. Both institutions have expressed commitment to revitalizing their existing partnership framework.
A joint committee is proposed to drive collaboration, focusing on mapping and wayfinding solutions for tourism locations, including coastal and leisure destinations. This partnership aims to unlock Nigeria’s tourism potential and contribute to national growth.
