The Safe Heritage Crest Academy on Saturday held its bi-annual inter-house sports competition to promote teamwork, sportsmanship and healthy competition among pupils and students.

The Managing Director of the school, Mrs Feyikemi Arolasafe, said the event underscored the institution’s commitment to practical sports beyond classroom teaching.

Arolasafe said the competition was designed to develop teamwork, discipline and the spirit of healthy rivalry among the pupils and students.
She said the event would showcase the talents, potentials and energies of the students, harnessed by their teachers and instructors.

“Our school did not stop at teaching sports in the classroom but the practicality of it is what has informed this gathering.

“We hope to develop in the pupils and students the spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship and promote healthy competition.

The managing director expressed pride in the participants, noting that their dedication and commitment had positioned their respective houses for excellence.

She urged the students to focus on teamwork, mutual support, celebrating achievements and identifying areas for improvement while making the activities enjoyable.

Arolasafe commended the teaching and non-teaching staff for their commitment in training and mentoring the students for the competition.

The Administrator of the school, Mrs Bolanle Moses called on students to embrace discipline, perseverance and unity in the competition.

Moses said the gathering demonstrated that sports unifies people and promotes togetherness in achieving common goals.

According to her, the event represents the harvest of talents and potentials nurtured through consistent training and dedication by staff and trainers.

Moses expressed confidence that the competition would be keenly contested, urging participants to uphold values that sports instil.

She said discipline, perseverance and unity would serve the students beyond the sports field if applied to their academics and daily lives.

“This event is the harvest of carefully nurtured talents.

“As we celebrate competition, let us also remember the values sports instill—discipline, perseverance, unity.

“These are life skills that must extend beyond the field into academics and character formation,” she said.

The administrator encouraged the athletes to showcase their skills and demonstrate exceptional sportsmanship while representing their houses.

She urged officials and supporters to uphold fair play, mutual respect and unity throughout the competition.
