The Director Business, Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM), Hon. Stella Okotete, has urged students and female staff of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) to embrace self-investment and mentorship for personal growth.

Okotete gave the advice during an event to commemorate the International Women’s Day, organised for students of Model Girls Junior Secondary School and female staff of NEXIM Bank in Abuja.

Speaking on the theme, “Give to Gain,” Okotete said giving time, knowledge, discipline and effort leads to confidence, opportunities and success.

She encouraged the students to remain committed to their studies, character development and aspirations to achieve their goals.

According to her, giving earns respect, while dedication to excellence builds a strong foundation for future success.

“To our dear young girls, I encourage you to begin early to give your best to your studies, your character, and your dreams.

“When you give respect, you gain respect. When you give effort, you gain excellence. When you give courage to your ambitions, you gain a future filled with possibilities.

“Never underestimate what you can become when you invest in yourself.

“To the remarkable female staff of NEXIM Bank, your presence here today reflects the true meaning of Give to Gain.

“By giving mentorship, guidance, and encouragement to these young girls, you are helping to shape confident future leaders,” she said.

She urged all stakeholders to continue to give support, knowledge and inspiration to build a stronger society.

According to her, positive contributions will result in a brighter future for girls and the nation at large.

Also, Mr Shagawo Ishaku, Vice Principal Administration, Model Girls Junior Secondary School, AMAC Estate, advised youths to embrace hard work, discipline and resilience to achieve success in life.

Ishaku urged young people to remain focused, explore different career paths and take advantage of available platforms for growth.

He also emphasised the importance of mentorship, noting that guidance from experienced professionals could shape career direction.

He encouraged girls to remain adaptable and open to learning, adding that success requires consistency and determination.

A representative of the Board Chairman, Deputy Director, School Services, Abdulrahman Muhammed advised students to believe in their abilities and work towards building a better future.

He expressed optimism that the knowledge gained would translate into improved outcomes in their respective endeavours.

On her part, Head of Human Resources Department, NEXIM Bank, Mrs Margaret Udosi commended the initiative, noting that they were essential for empowering individuals and strengthening communities.

Udosi, however, called for the sustainability of the programme to enable more people to benefit from its objectives.
