In the Nigeria system of democratic government, the issue of political party is very crucial because nobody gets across any position of leadership without passing through a political party. To this end, the issue of mass mobilization for running a political party is also very crucial. Unfortunately, a larger chunk of those that are interested in getting across positions of leadership do not invest in mobilizing the masses for engagement in political parties. That’s why we see those that are interested in positions of leadership running from pillars to poles in search of ready made political parties through which they can get across positions of leadership.

Apparently miffed by lack of mass mobilization for participation in running political parties in Anambra State, a Lagos based businessman and philanthropist by name High Chief Godwin Agbasimelo took the bull by the horns to mobilize the masses for participation in running a political party in Anambra State. Yeah, Agbasimelo who hails from Ezinifte in Nnewi South Local Government Area came on board in politics with an unprecedented mass mobilization under a platform called Oga Ndi Oga Foundation Movement precisely in 2021 prior to Anambra 2021 governorship election.

Prio to joining the political space in Anambra State, Agbasimelo has done so much for Ndi Anambra mostly the women and youth in the cities and villages across the State with philanthropic services such as empowering people with vehicles, motorcycles, sowing machine, hair dresser and other business materials plus distribution of food stuff like bags of rice and provision and giving out cash to the needy and jobless to start something doing. Yeah, his philanthropic services through Oga Ndi Oga Foundation aided his sojourn into politics to be fruitful. And by the time Oga Ndi Oga Foundation adopted Labour Party as its political party to contest 2021 governorship election in Anambra State it was a great deal for Labour Party.

As a matter of fact, Labour Party which was never on ground to win election suddenly emerged to be a leading contender for the Anambra governorship seat in 2021. Observers say, Labour Party at that point was well energized and positioned towards coasting home to victory against the ruling party the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and other political parties but unfortunately the governorship candidate of Labour Party Mr Obiora Agbasimelo was kidnapped some weeks to the governorship election. That turned out to be a very unfortunate incident for Oga Ndi Oga mass movement. Worse of it is that Obiora is still missing on the account of being kidnapped.

However, the sad incident about Obiora even though was devastating, the foundation is still strong on ground with its numerical strength as the proprietor keep on oiling and energizing the structure of the foundation all over the State. Observers say the story of Oga Ndi Oga and the great deal in 2021 governorship election in Anambra lives on and those interested in getting across positions of leadership have to get in touch with Oga Ndi Oga foundation instead of running from pillars to poles in search of ready made political parties.

An observer and current affairs analyst, Dr Kennedy Anyadiufu posited that Oga Ndi Oga is still intact and standing as a platform of opportunity for political aspirants to achieve electoral victory. Hear him “Oga Ndi Oga Foundation is intact never minding that the leaders of Labour Party used the foundation and dumped it. But where is Labour Party today? Labour Party is dying if not dead already because people are not interested in the Party anymore. If am not mistaking, Labour Party no longer occupy even a single seat both in National Assembly and State Assembly all over the federation because it failed to recognize Oga Ndi Oga foundation that brought it to national limelight”

In view of Anyadiufu, Oga Ndi Oga structure is intact and even stronger than ever and it is not an overstatement or exaggeration to say that the foundation is a standing structure for electoral victory for political aspirants ahead of 2027 general elections. According to him, “political party not withstanding, Oga Ndi Oga foundation picked Labour Party and fired it up to national reckoning. So in like manner, political aspirants can be fired up with any political party via the backing of Oga Ndi Oga structure”
