Yoruba Ronu Group(YRG) has condemned the current socio-economic situation in the country, particularly the hardship faced on swapping of old Naira notes for new redesigned Naira notes and scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS..

In a statement by the Chairperson of the group, Prince Duran Iyantan made available to newsmen in Akure on Thursday in Akure, the Ondo State capital, the group said the citizens were not happy due to unfortold hardship.

Iyantan expressed concerned over the current development as the general election is drawing closer.

He also expressed concern over reports on conspiracy by some cabal to deny Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu the presidency..

According to the statement, “There are several who think this is some sort of vast conspiratorial plot on the part of the ruling party to deny Asiwaju Tinubu the presidency as Asiwaju Tinubu himself gave a sly, conspiratorial wink inAbeokuta during his campaign in Ogun State recently.”

Iyantan, however, exonerated President Muhammadu Buhari from the conspiracy, saying “President Mohammadu Buhari is a true party man and is wise enough to know it’s in his best interest for Bola Tinubu to be his successor so as to protect his good work and continue from where he stops than for another political party to destroy all his legacies.”

The YRG chairperson appealed to President Buhari to, as a matter of urgency, sanitise and restore orderliness in the polity to avoid masses revolt.

He said: “A time bomb” possibility, as there is limits to human endurance when going through pain.

“Mr. President should make the new redesigned Naira notes abundantly available to Nigerians to access, while he should also end the lingering fuel scarcity in the country within the shortest possible time to alleviate the current suffering of Nigerians.

“We,Yoruba Ronu, also condemn as barbaric and criminal act by some persons who recently stoned the president’s convoy during his visit to Kano State, a state where he is well loved and has a large pool of cult-like followers.

“We therefore caution that it is indicative of the frustrations Nigerians are currently going through.

Nevertheless, YRG appealed to Nigerians Group to keep their renewed hope in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the man that would turn things around for them.

The statement reads: “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has his own different identity. He has been tested and trusted by Lagosians as a great achiever. Many Nigerians can also testify to his good work as having the capacity and wherewithal to take Nigeria to a promised land, an Eldorado of boundless riches and growth if elected as Nigeria’s next President.”
