…Blacklists 4 Supervisors For Exam related Offences

National Examinations Councils (NECO) has released the 2022 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), and announcing an increase in the number of persons booked for various forms of examination related offences.

Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of NECO, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi who disclosed this at the Council’s headquarters along the Minna-Bida road yesterday said a total of, 11, 419 were involved in malpractices against 4, 454 cases in the previous year, 2021.

Professor Dantani who gave the name of the states with higher number of cases to include; Ogun, Rivers and Plateau however told the journalists that NECO may consider taking legal actions against the culprits.
“The number of candidates booked for various forms of malpractices is 11, 419 as against 4, 454 in 2021, showing a sharp rise in the number of malpractices”.

He attributed the feat to improvement in strategies evolved by the monitoring officers in NECO to ensure credibility in all its examinations.

“This led to the blacklisting four Supervisors, one each from Rivers and Plateau states and two from Ogun state for aiding and abating, as well as poor supervision”.

Meanwhile, details of the results indicate that 29 subjects were examined between November 21st and December 21st 2021.

Professor Dantani said, a total of, 60, 133; 31, 392 representing 53.04 percent male and 28, 241 representing 46.96 percent females registered for the examinations while 59, 124 candidates sat for the 29 number of subjects registered.
