The legal battle against the electoral victory of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has finally been laid to rest as the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Ibadan dismissed the last petition by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

The Tribunal also awarded N1milion cost to be paid to the 2nd and 3rd respondents by the Petitioner.

The petition was filed by Allied Peoples Movement (APM) while the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor Seyi Makinde are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Respondents respectively.

All the three members of the Tribunal aligned with the decision and the awarded cost saying it will serve as a deterrent against politicians who always files what they described as frivolous petitions.

The Petitioner, APM had on Tuesday applied to withdraw its petition as the Tribunal fixes Thursday for the hearing of the matter.

With this development, Governor Seyi Makinde is now at ease to spend his four years second term in office as the APM petition was the last petition at the Tribunal.
