Gunmen kidnap 4 Nasarawa university students

On Monday night, gunmen abducted four Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) students.

After BCG, the event happened close to Angwan Kare.

According to a witness, it happened around 10:30 p.m.

The kidnapped students have been identified as Rahila Hanya – SLT 100Level, Josephine Gershon – Computer Science 100Level, Rosemary Samuel – Business Administration 100Level and Goodness Samuel – Geography 100Level.

Reacting to the incident in a statement made available to DAILY POST, the Student Union Government chairman, Comrade Oshafu Nuhu Abdulrahman, condemned the act, urging students to remain calm and join in prayers as efforts are in place to secure their release in sound health.

He advised students of the institution to be on alert and report any suspicious movement around the school to enable security agencies attached to the student community do their job.

“The Students’ Union Government, under the leadership of Comrade Oshafu Nuhu Abdulrahman, wishes to condemn the barbaric act which occurred last night where four students (Rahila Hanya-5LT 100 Level, Josephine Gershon-COM. SCIENCE 100 Level, Rosemary Samuel-BUSINESS ADMIN 100 Level and Goodness Samuel-Geography 100 Level) of our noble institution were kidnapped.

“We urge everyone to remain calm and join hands in prayer as efforts are in place to secure their release in sound health.

“Lastly, students are advised to be on alert and to report any suspicious movement around the campuses to enable swift response from security agencies attached to student communities,” he said.
