Anambra: Alor PG hands over 36 Market Stalls to Community

The President General (PG) of the Alor community in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State,Chief Emmanuel Ojukwu has handed over a 36- stall in memory of his late mother, Late Mrs. Roseline Ojukwu to 36 beneficiaries from the community.

Chief Emmanuel Ojukwu a renowned philanthropist who has always been an advocate of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s Think home philosophy also empowered the 36 beneficiaries with cash grants to start-up various retail trading of their choice.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman Idemili South Local Government Area, Mrs. Amaka Obi commended the President General for his projects and human capital development for the people of the Alor community which includes the 36 stalls.

Mrs. Obi acknowledged the good works of Chief Emmanuel Ojukwu in the Alor community since he took over the mantle of leadership.

She urged the people of Alor, other Presidents General and illustrious sons of various communities in Idemili South Local Government Area to emulate his kind gesture and invest in their people and community because the government cannot do it alone.

The Vicar, St Paul’s Anglican Church, Alor, Ven. Chiedu Nnakwuo and his counterpart and Parish Priest of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Alor both described Chief Emmanuel Ojukwu as a kind hearted man who always supported men, women and youths of the Alor community.

“At this present situation of the country, he has not just touched lives but also given hope to the hopeless.

They prayed to God to grant him all his good wishes, with long life and prosperity”.

In their separate speeches, the Alor Women President General,Lady Ifeoma Uzokwe and the Immediate past Women President General, Lady Grace Uche Nwoye eulogized High Chief Emmanuel Ojukwu, saying that his philanthropic gesture dated back to the days when he was not yet the Town Union leader.

Dignitaries in attendance include several Alor Stakeholders, Alor Town Union Executive, Women and Youth executives, Idemili South LGA Councilors.
