FCT Police raids black spots, nabs six robbers

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT ), Police Command, has arrested six suspected armed robbers during a raid operations of black spots in Utako.

Spokesperson of the Command, SP Josephine Adeh, made this disclosure in a statement.

Ms. Adeh, noted that
the operatives of FCT Police Command, attached to Utako divisional Headquarters, on 07/02/2024 at about 2300hrs, in a coordinated raid operation, arrested six suspected armed robbers in an uncompleted hospital building which is a marked black spot in Utako village.

She identified the suspects as Basara Hassan ‘m’ 41, Daniel Charles ‘m’ 27, Adamu M Oshiaka ‘m’ 32, Chancy Asidi ‘m’ 38 and Saliu Al Hassan ‘m’ 24, all from neighbouring states bordering FCT were arrested.

The Spokesperson also revealed that a locally made pistol, two live cartridges and wraps of substances suspected to be marijuana was recovered from the suspects.

Further investigation about the recovered ammunition, she added, led to the arrest of one Yusuf Iliyasu a.k.a Tablet, who is an ex-convict and the syndicate leader.

While investigation is ongoing, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, assured residents of his unwavering commitment to make Abuja a hell for criminals and to ensure safety of all.

He equally urged residents to report suspicious activities to the police.
