Super Brains Golden Crown Academy, Idu, the host community of Idu Industrial Area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has recently celebrated its 11th graduation and prize-giving ceremony, with a call on the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) to empower private schools. The event which was held at the St Matthew’s Parish, Karmo was graced by His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan, Emeritus Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, and Very Rev. Fr. John Oluoma, from St Mary’s Parish, Gyadna.

In his remarks, Cardinal Onaiyekan commended the school’s efforts in providing quality education to both elite and less-privileged children. He announced a merit-based scholarship scheme to support struggling students, covering six years of education. Rev. Fr. Oluoma also awarded scholarships to deserving students.

The Chairman of the graduation committee, Fredrick Ofoha, urged the FCTA to support private schools, noting that it would enable them to make more significant contributions to the education sector in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He also called for government support in providing transportation for students, particularly those traveling from distant locations.

The Proprietress of the school, Mrs. Ifeoma Osike, in her welcome address, expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, patrons, and parents for their support. Highlighting the school’s progress, including its expansion and extra-curricular activities, she noted that the current infrastructural development was being slowed down due to paucity of funds. She appealed for more support, particularly in providing a school bus, to facilitate the transportation needs of students.

The graduation ceremony showcased the school’s commitment to academic excellence and its efforts to provide quality education to its students.
