By Ekuson Nw’Ogbunka, Abuja

Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu, the All Progressives Grands Alliance (APGA) candidate for Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairmanship, has congratulated Hon. Christopher Zakka (Mekalangu), the incumbent Chairman and the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on his victory in the February 21, 2026, election. In a statement, Chukwu praised the people of Abuja Municipal Area Council for exercising their democratic rights in a peaceful and orderly manner.

Chukwu expressed gratitude for a safe campaign season and election day without any loss of life or injury, calling it a victory for democracy and AMAC. He acknowledged Mekalangu’s win, respecting the will of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as a legally established institution.

The APGA candidate urged Mekalangu to be magnanimous in victory, govern with humility, and embrace inclusiveness in leadership. He emphasized that AMAC belongs to all, regardless of political, tribal, or religious differences, and hoped Mekalangu’s administration would reflect fairness, unity, and commitment to the common good.

Chukwu thanked his team, supporters, and everyone who stood with him throughout the campaign, praising their courage, principle, and integrity. He noted that elections are contests of ideas and structure, but character is measured by how one conducts oneself before, during, and after the process.

The statement concluded with a call to action, urging Nigerians to participate in democracy, speak up, contest, vote, and contribute to nation-building. Chukwu affirmed his commitment to youth empowerment, good governance, and community development, saying the journey does not end with the election.

Chukwu’s concession speech has been seen as a model of graciousness and a testament to his character, demonstrating that politics can be done with honour and conviction.
