Better days are coming for Nigerians- SGF

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation ,George Akume,has assured Nigerians that better days are ahead for the nation through the enactment and implementation of policies.

Akume made this known during dinner reception organised by his friends to honour his contributions as SGF tl inspire good governance in Abuja.

He said it was a privilege to be honoured and an exhibition of confidence and faith in his ability to deliver on the job.

“You said repeatedly that President Bola Tinubu never made a mistake by picking me as SGF; continue to pray for him ,continue to pray for our country Nigeria.

“Some of the policies by this administration are already yielding positive results.

“The removal of fuel subsidy has always been contended but the courage and will to do it was not there ,until Bola Tinubu came and decided to confront it .

“Every move was carefully calculated to achieve maximum result ,better days are coming .

“I always tell our people whenever the occasion arises that we must continue to have renewed hope.

“Nations are great because the citizenry have hope that tomorrow will be better than today.”

Akume therefore , appealed to Nigeria’ns to do positive things to move the nation forward in partnership with this administration.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio ,congratulated Akume on his appointment as SGF and his wife for supporting him to achieve the milestone .

“Unbehalf of the Senate ,I want to congratulate you ,you are a square peg in a square hole ;we are celebrating your excellence and humility .

“We know that you are going to leave your mark in the present administration of Bola Tinubu,we pray that God will guide you and it will be well with you because when it is well with you it will be well with Nigeria. ”

The Seaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, described Akume as a kind man who would translate that into moving the nation forward.

“I find in Akume something I rarely find in politicians which is kindness and he will bring it to play on the job.

“I want to assure you of our support at the House of Representatives and we will ensure that all policies of the government and bills will scale through in the house .”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Party Chairman ,Abdullahi Adamu said the president made the right choice of SGF and he would succeed .

“An honour done to Akume is an honour done to Nigeria, I know George Akume very intimately, and I know by God’s will he will succeed as SGF.

“He is the 20th in line ,I hope that you write your name in gold that is what we wish you and pray you do well,we will support you,”he said

The Chairman of the Steering Committee, Gov Abdulraham Abdulrazaq of Kwara ,said the event was organised to celebrate Akume’s iconic attributes by his friends.

Abdulrazaq represented by the Secretary of the Central Planning Committee for the event , Ginika Tor,described Akume as a man of humanitarian and development character,thus the need to celebrate him
