To avert escalation of clashes,, people of Ukawu autonomous community, Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, have called on their Ishinkwor and Abaomege neighbours in the local government to cooperate with the boundary demarcation committee set up by the state government to end the 113 years old boundary Walhalla.

Efforts made by previous administrations in the State to end the wars had been to no avail.

The people of Ishinkwor and Abaomege have been at war since 113 years ago over land matters with many lives lost and properties worth billions of naira destroyed.

Piqued by the fracas, Governor Francis Nwifuru set up demarcation committee to find lasting solutions to the war.

Ukawu community, a sister community to the warring communities which commended Governor Francis Nwifuru and Chairman of the local government for building bridges of peace through boundary demarcation of Abomege and Ishinkwo land to end the war, urged the communities to cooperate with the land demarcation committee for peace to reign supreme.

These were contained in a communique issued at the end of the town hall meeting of the community signed by its President, Eze Agala James at the weekend.

On the traditional stool upheaval in the community, the community frowned and condemned the activities of miscreants and disgruntled elements whose intentions as sponsored by enemies of the government tend to impugn and malign it’s traditional ruler in a bid to seek attention.

“That we urge the security agencies of the state to put up their surveillance in search for the transducers whose intention is to create mayhem in our peaceful community and track them to face the consequences of their actions.

“That we pass a vote of confidence on our traditional ruler whom on inception had settled scores of threat, misgivings and disorderly conduct among the people of Ukawu, hence we live at peace”, the communique said..
