The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has expressed satisfaction with the general conduct of the motoring public during the just concluded Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

According to a statement signed by Felicia Kalu, Corps Commander, Acting Corps Public Education Officer, the Corps Marshal also commended the commitment, professionalism, and resilience of field operatives whose outstanding performance greatly enhanced the success of the nationwide special patrol operations.

The Corps Marshal gave the commendation after receiving comprehensive operational briefs from supervisory officers deployed from the National Headquarters to monitor the special operations across the country.

He noted with appreciation that the level of compliance exhibited by road users, alongside the strategic deployment and vigilance of FRSC personnel, contributed significantly to safer highways and improved traffic management throughout the festive period.

While acknowledging that minor challenges were recorded in the course of the exercise, the Corps Marshal maintained that the overall outcome of the operations remained highly commendable.

He charged operatives not to rest on their oars but to consolidate on the gains recorded by sustaining the tempo of diligence, discipline, and proactive service delivery.

The Corps Marshal however, expressed concern over pockets of traffic violations observed during the period, warning errant drivers to desist from unsafe road practices.

He emphasized that strict adherence to traffic rules and regulations remains the most effective pathway to reducing road traffic crashes and ensuring the safety of all road users.

Reaffirming the Corps’ zero tolerance for misconduct, the Corps Marshal expressed satisfaction that no adverse reports were recorded against personnel during the operations, noting that the commendation extended to officers and men of the Corps is well deserved.

He called on the motoring public to sustain the culture of safe road use beyond festive periods, stressing that road safety is a collective responsibility that requires continuous commitment from all stakeholders.
