The Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has declared Friday February 24 as a work-free day for civil servants in the service of the government.

The Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Ayibaina Duba, announced this in a statement he issued in Yenagoa on Thursday evening.

According to him, the decision is to enable those who will travel out of their work-station for the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Saturday to do so before the polls.

The statement said, “The Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri has declared Friday, February 24, 2023 as a work free day for Civil Servants in the Service of Bayelsa State Government.

“This is to allow those who intend to travel out of their work-station ahead of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections holding over the weekend to do so.”
