ENUGU COMMUNITY APPRECIATES GOVERNOR PETER MBA’s LEADERSHIP QUALITIES , ENDS YEAR 2024 WITH CARNIVAL, FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

The old town of Adu Achi community in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State recently went agog with funfare and celebration to mark the end of year 2024 as well as usher in year 2025.
The event dubbed Adu Carnival was orgainsed by the town union Executives. The event which kick started with a fooball tournament on 26 Dec 2024 witness three teams from six communities that makes up the town competiting for the star prize of the tournament.

The tournament dovetailed to the grand finale of the event held on 2nd January 2025.

Speaking at the well attend event held at Adu Community School field, the president General of the town union , Engr Joseph Chinedu Uzor in his welcome address commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State for his leadership exceptional skills since he took the mantleship of governance in the state.

He added that the governance style of Governor Mba is cutting across all the rural communities in the state which according to him is providing condusive environment for economy strive in the state.

According to him, the carnival is organised to showcase cultural heritage of the town aimed at fostering peaceful cohabitation among the citizens of the area as well as serve as talent discovery for young footballers.
Engr Uzo who promised that the event will be annually called on good people of the town to support the government in various level for development. He appealled for the support of the community in providing more amenities to Adu town.

In his goodwill message to Adu Achi community, the traditional ruler of the town and the President of Achi Traditional Rulers Association, Igwe Sunday Ozoemena Orah , Ezeabata 1 , the Ohabuenyi 11 thanked Engr Uzor led executives and the entire members of the community for their support and encouragement. He assured the community that he will provide quality, equity and fairness in the community even as he called those formenting trouble in the community to repent and turn new leaf.
In the same vein, the Ezeigbo of Keffi, Nassarawa state , Igwe Celestine Mba who is also an indigene of the community congratulated the town leadership for organising the Carnival which he said will form as attractive activities diring christmas.
He lauded the remarkable contributions and dedication of the President General to the development of the town adding that it is a way of giving back to the community. He described Engr Uzo as highly industrious who have earned both local and international admirations in recognition of his unblemished service to the community.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Chairman of the occassion, High Chief Vinmartin Obiora Iloh who also doubled as the Chief Executive Officer , Signature Television , an indigene of the town commended the orgainsers of the event for effective planning and execution of the event . He further stated that the event will create atmosphere where indigenes with their families and friends interact in a social manner.
The event was witnessed by the Honourable Commissioner of Culture and Tourism , Hon Barr Ugochi Madueke, son and daughers of the community, families , friends and well wishers.
The highpoints of the event was fund raising to support the equipment of the town health centre, unveilling of ADU Likesminds accontriments, Masquarades display, cultural dances and presentation of trophies to the winners of the football tournament among other activities.
