On the occasion of the birthday of distinguished elder statesman, philanthropist, and patriot, General Dr. Joseph Jude Okolagu (Rtd), His Royal Majesty Eze-Igwe William Ezugwu, the Eze Ogbozarra III of Opi Ancient Kingdom, has extended warm felicitations and heartfelt commendations to the retired general’s enduring legacy of service, sacrifice, and compassion.

In a statement personally signed by the royal father and released to the press on Thursday, HRM Eze-Igwe Ezugwu described General Okolagu as “a rare breed of leader whose commitment to nation-building, community development, and humanitarian service has continued to inspire generations.”

“General Dr. Joseph Jude Okolagu (Rtd) represents the best of Nigeria’s military tradition and post-service patriotism,” the monarch noted. He highlighted the General’s distinguished military career characterized by discipline, courage, and unwavering loyalty to Nigeria. Beyond his military service, the monarch praised General Okolagu’s dedication to humanitarian efforts, mentorship, and strategic initiatives aimed at nation-building.

“At a time when our nation is in dire need of models of integrity, sacrifice, and unity, General Okolagu stands tall as a shining example of what it truly means to lead and serve selflessly,” Eze-Igwe Ezugwu emphasized.

The traditional ruler also drew attention to the General’s impactful but low-profile efforts in community empowerment, youth development, and education support, describing these philanthropic acts as transformative for countless lives across Nigeria.

Concluding his tribute, the Eze-Igwe extended birthday wishes to General Okolagu, praying for continued strength, good health, and divine favor. “May you remain a beacon of hope to many in this new chapter of your life,” he added.

The statement was signed by HRM Eze-Igwe William Ezugwu, Eze Ogbozarra III of Opi Ancient Kingdom, Igwe of Ibagwa Opi Autonomous Community, and Eze Ka Eze I of Ideke Land, Enugu State.
