In an effort to forestall any Fulani-farmer clashes in Katsina state, Malam Garatau Rabiu Mani, village head of Gamzago has directed farmers to evacuate their farm produce to avoid being destroyed by visiting pastoralists.

Mani made the appeal during a peaceful enlightenment campaign tour by a fulani community leader, Ardo Abdullahi Dahiru in Gamzago village, Daneji district area of Kafur LGA on Tuesday.

He said the removal of the farm produce would allow the visiting Herders to graze their animals with no damages caused.

The village head however called on people in the community to always report any unholy events happening around the area to the relevant authorities for prompt action.

Ardo Abdullahi Dahiru, the Fulani Community Leader, earlier in his address, said the commencement of the peaceful enlightenment campaign tour to Fulani settlements had become necessary to avoid the unwarranted loss of lives.

Dahiru said there is the need to live peacefully with one another and our neighbors to enable us achieve the desired conducive environment for development.

He called on Herders to stop taking their animals for grazing on farms that are yet to be cleared to avoid any clashes.

Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf, the Secretary, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Kafur LGA, on his part, enjoined Fulani parents to enroll their wards in schools to enable them acquire both Western and Islamic education.
