The Federal Government has officially taken over Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), elevating it to the status of a federal university.
This transformation positions TASUED as one of the three dedicated universities of education in the country.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday by Mrs Boriowo Folasade,
Director, Press and Public Relations in the ministry.
Boriowo quoted the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, to have reinforced government’s commitment to advancing teacher education and human capital development.
Alausa expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for approving the transition and for his unwavering dedication to educational development.
He praised the President’s visionary leadership in strengthening Nigeria’s education sector and ensuring sustainable progress.
Alausa also commended the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, for his support and trust in the federal government’s efforts to enhance the nation’s academic landscape.
Additionally, he acknowledged the Awujale of Ijebu-land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Adetona, for his steadfast backing of this historic transition, which would bring lasting benefits to the people.
“The federal government’s decision to take over TASUED aligned with its strategic vision to bolster teacher education and equip the next generation of educators with the skills and resources needed to drive national development,” he said.
