The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has approved a major redeployment of senior officers as part of efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness and improve service delivery across the organisation.

Agboola Olundegun, Assistant Corps Commander, Corps Public Education Officer, in a statement, the strategic shake-up, announced on Wednesday, affects key positions including the Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of Operations, the Corps Public Education Officer, the Katsina Sector Commander and the Corps Intelligence Officer.

Under the new postings, former Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, has been appointed Assistant Corps Marshal in charge of Operations at the FRSC National Headquarters in Abuja.

In his new role, Ogungbemide will oversee nationwide enforcement coordination and strategic field operations, which form a critical component of the Corps’ operational structure.

Until his latest appointment, Ogungbemide served as the Corps’ spokesperson and had previously held the position of Sector Commander in Lagos State. He is also a member of the National Institute.

In a related development, Felicia Kalu, formerly the Deputy Corps Public Education Officer, has been elevated to serve as the Acting Corps Public Education Officer. She will now oversee the Corps’ public communication, media engagement and nationwide road safety advocacy campaigns.

As part of the redeployment, Corps Commander Maxwell Kaltungo Lede has been moved from his position as Sector Commander of the Katsina Sector Command to assume duty as Corps Intelligence Officer at the national headquarters.

He is to be replaced by Corps Commander HA Ibrahim, who previously served as Corps Commander Manpower at the FRSC Academy.

Also affected by the redeployment is Corps Commander HA Ogundayo, who has been moved from the National Traffic Radio unit of the Corps Public Education Office to the Corps Marshal’s Office as Corps Commander for National Traffic Radio.

Similarly, Deputy Corps Commander OJ Ohaeri has been redeployed from the Administration and Human Resources Department at the headquarters to serve as Deputy Corps Public Education Officer.

The Corps Marshal said the redeployments form part of ongoing efforts to reposition the Corps for greater efficiency, professionalism and improved service delivery across all formations.

He urged the affected officers to deploy their experience and commitment to their new assignments.

The FRSC reaffirmed its commitment to safer roads across Nigeria through strengthened operations, intelligence-driven enforcement and sustained public education campaigns.
