Gov. Buni Approves Employment of 158 Community Nurses, 393 Student Nurses

The Governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the employment of 158 community Nursing graduates of the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery.

The beneficiaries are graduates of two sets of community Nursing of the college.

Similarly, Governor Buni has approved the payment of N10,000 monthly allowance to 393 students of Yobe state origin, undergoing National Diploma and Basic Midwifery programmes at the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery.

In a statement signed by Mamman Mohammed, Director General Press and Media Affairs said that the approval indicates that 67 of the benefitting students are also entitled to 11 months arrears of the allowance.

It also explained that the 326 new students of Yobe state origin undertaking Basic Midwifery and National Diploma in Nursing programme, are to start benefiting the approved N10,000 monthly allowance.

Governor Buni urged the newly employed health personnels to be dedicated to serve the people better.

He charged them to key into the reform programme of the state government to provide efficient, accessible and affordable medical services to the people.

The Governor also called on the students to study hard to justify the government’s investment in them.
