Domak Group International has reiterated its dedication to assisting the government’s efforts in tackling Nigeria’s increasing shortage of affordable housing.

Dr Kingsley Azonobi, Chairman and President of Domak Group, made this known during the official handover of land documents to investors at the fast-growing Domak Garden City in Nasarawa State.

Azonobi explained that the group’s initiative was designed to encourage Nigerians to invest in land, offering flexible payment plans and a variety of land options across different regions, making land ownership more accessible.

He emphasised the importance of providing low-income earners with an opportunity to secure their future through affordable daily payments, starting as low as 500 Naira.

“For over five years, I allowed Nigerians to invest in my dream, Domak Garden City, allowing them to buy into the project with as little as 500 Naira per day.

“Some doubted the possibility, but we planned it in such a way that even low-income earners could benefit.

“Now, lands bought for 350,000 Naira five years ago are now worth 1.6 million Naira,” Azonobi said.

He expressed pride in fulfilling his promise to Nigerians and announced plans to expand the initiative across the country, having successfully tested it in Nasarawa State.

Azonobi also highlighted the growing housing deficit and the need for more inclusive efforts to tackle it.

“The housing deficit continues to grow as Nigeria’s population increases. By 2050, Nigeria will be the 10th largest population in the world, and 65-70 per cent of this population will be youth.

“Who is planning for them?” Azonobi questioned, adding that Domak Group is thinking beyond government efforts in addressing this challenge.

He urged the government to partner with the group, creating a conducive environment that prioritised homeownership and minimised political and bureaucratic barriers.

Subscribers of the initiative lauded Domak Group for its affordable housing solution.

Some also appealed to Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule to fulfill his promise from the 2022 groundbreaking ceremony to construct a road linking the new city to Karshi town, which would further accelerate development.

Rev. Caleb Tukura, District Head of Kurape, expressed strong community support for the project, stating, “Our ancestors prophesised development in this area, and it has come to pass.

“This is a wonderful project, and it will touch the lives of people in this community.”

Subscriber Felicia Meeme shared her excitement about acquiring land, noting, “It brings a smile to our faces. If the government provides an access route, it will be great for development.”

Mr Abdulazeez Hassan, Saudana Isa Sokoto, congratulated the new landowners and called for continued support of the project to help drive further development in the region.(NAN)
