As part of efforts to address the flooding problem at Funmilayo bus stop and upstream of Kushoro/Igbayilola Streets in Agege Local Government Area, the Lagos State Government will divert traffic from Iyana Ipaja Road to facilitate the redirection of storm water and the construction of  cross culvert from Saturday, September 23rd, to November 30th, 2023.

Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transportation, in a statement, stated that the alternative routes available for Motorists during the construction period include “Traffic from Iyana Ipaja heading towards Oke Koto axis will be diverted after the Mulero Street intersection to the outward lane for counter flow and will return to the original lane at the next median opening.

“Traffic from Agbotikuyo/Oke Koto axis heading towards Iyana Ipaja will be required to merge into one lane to accommodate counter flow and will revert back to two lanes after passing the Ibile Oil and Gas Petrol Filling Station at the Arige Street intersection.

Motorists were therefore urged to exercise patience as the diversion and lane merging are part of the traffic management plans aimed at eliminating flooding.
