During an examination at Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, a non-academic staff member, Abdul-azeez Abdullahi, was reportedly stabbed by an unidentified individual.

The incident, which occurred on Friday at the Red Block Hall of the institution, was said to have taken place around 3:00 pm.

According to a reliable source, the attacker entered the hall after students had been cleared for the afternoon paper and began causing disturbance. The situation escalated when invigilator Mr. Abdul-azeez Abdullahi confronted the individual to leave the hall.

“The disruptive and offensive behavior of the unknown man got unbearable and eventually prompted an invigilator, Mr. Abdul-azeez Abdullahi, to confront him to leave the hall,” the source said. “This led to an altercation between the duo, and the unknown man broke one of the window louvres and stabbed the invigilator, Mr. Abdul-azeez, in different parts of his body, which include his back, hand, and head.”

After the stabbing, the assailant fled the scene. Mr. Abdul-azeez Abdullahi received first aid treatment at OSPOLY medical center before being transferred to Ore Ofe hospital in Iree, Osun State, for further treatment.

Confirming the incident, Dr. Tope Abiola, the Dean Of Students’ Affairs of the institution, stated that the perpetrator was not a student at the institution. “The culprit is not our student. We are aware of the incident and are collaborating with the police to ensure the culprit is identified and arrested.
