The Minister led a delegation of the ministry on a homage to the Palace of the royal father in Oporaza, headquarters of Gbaramatu kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta.

Speaking at the palace, the Minister said that his visit was at the instance of President Bola Tinubu.

It could be recalled that the Minister and his entourage had on Saturday visited Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta at the Government House, Asaba.

The team later, on Saturday met with the State Traditional Rulers Council at the Palace of the Orodje of Okpe kingdom, Maj-Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (rtd) where he solicited their cooperation in maintaining peace in the region.

According to Engr. Momoh, “given President Tinubu’s dedication to the development of the entire country and the Niger Delta region. To which I am assigned as the Minister, I felt it is essential to experience the region firsthand before addressing its challenges from the office.”

Engr. Momoh emphasized the critical role of traditional rulers and other stakeholders in maintaining peace for meaningful regional development.

The Minister of Niger Dela Affairs said that President Tinubu had urged continued efforts to uphold peace in the region, facilitating optimal oil production and minimising oil theft.

He spoke further, “my message resonates with the entire Gbaramatu Kingdom and the wider region, marking a pivotal moment in my assignment.

“I secured a peace commitment from both the king and High Chief Ekpemupolo in this singular trip.”
