The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), pioneer officer Cadets, Course One has celebrated its 60th anniversary in Abuja.
Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Acting Director of Defence Information, in a statement on Wednesday said that
the surviving members of the course met with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, over the weekend while commemorating the anniversary.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa applauded the pioneers for their great service to the nation.
He noted that their experiences is still valuable and needed to advance the Nigeria Armed Forces.
General Musa pledged to seek for such advises when the need arises.
The Chairman of the Regular Course One, Major General Rabiu Aliyu (rtd) thanked the CDS for his support towards their 60th anniversary re-union, while commending him for his people-centric leadership of the Armed Forces.
He said, the CDS has achieved many successes across the various DHQ led operations in the country.
He added that General Musa has impacted the Armed Forces greatly within the period as the Chief of Defence Staff.
The statement recalled that the pioneer members of the NDA Regular Course one were enlisted in 1964 and commissioned in 1967.
