Speaking at the event, Abbas said the gesture was aimed at supporting and complementing the state government’s effort under Governor Mai Mala Buni towards curtailing the wide spread of diphtheria outbreak in the State.

“Sequel to your earlier request, I have been directed by my MD NEDC Mohammed Goni Alkali to handover these donated items to your Ministry for judicious utilisation towards curtailing the spread of the diphtheria outbreak in Yobe State”.

Appreciating the gesture, Dr Mohammed Lawan Gana, the Commissioner Ministry of Health and Human services commended the NEDC for it’s continuous support and interventions in Yobe State and beyond.

“Therefore, I commend the commission for their targeted interventions especially in areas of most critical needs,” he said.
