The Director General/CEO Prof. Charles Anosike on 3rd December 2025 received the BusinessDay Public Lecture Series and Excellence Awards.

Now in its seventh edition, the BusinessDay Awards celebrate public sector leaders who strengthen governance, improve institutional performance, and advance data-driven decision-making nationwide. Prof. Anosike’s leadership in driving efficiency, climate resilience, and evidence-based reforms continues to position NiMet as a model of modern public service delivery.

The Awards Committee honoured him for his exceptional commitment, strategic vision, and transformative contributions to Nigeria’s meteorological and climate services sector. His recognition in the Excellence in Public Service category underscores his consistency in championing innovation, service quality, and institutional excellence.

Among those also recognized were Festus Keyamo, Hon. Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development; Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation; H.E. Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs; and several other distinguished public leaders.
