The Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, Orumba Towns’ People’s Union (OTPU) has sent felicitations to the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike at 57.

This was contained in an interview granted by the Chairman of the union, Hon Ikenna Nwankwo to journalists at the end of the year 2024 party organized by the union on Saturday in Abuja.

Stating that the occasion served as an opportunity for the Orumba people to express their appreciation for Wike’s dedication to public service, Nwankwo therefore said Wike has selfless contributed to governance in Nigeria, including his roles as Chief of Staff in Rivers State, Minister of State for Education, and two-time governor of Rivers State. He however added that those services had earned him the admiration of the Orumba people.

According to him, Wike’s impressive track record, which has earned him the nickname: “Mr Project,” has also been replicated in his current role as FCT Minister, Nwankwo noted.

Nwankwo’s praise for Wike’s performance is not an isolated incident. Recently, Wike, according to him topped the performance appraisal conducted as part of the cabinet reshuffle, solidifying his position as a driving force behind Abuja’s rapid development.

However, the event, which took place in Abuja, was attended by prominent stakeholders, including Hon Okwudili Ezenwankwo, Prince Chibuike Echem, Dr Ochiogu, and HRM A. O. Chukwudi.

Expressing gratitude to members for their support, which he attributed to the union’s success, he however thanked God for the blessings and protection enjoyed by the union in 2024.

However, the chairman announced the appointment of new patrons, including Hon Chinwe Nnabuife, Hon Okwudili Ezenwankwo, HRM A. O. Chukwudi, Amb. Chudi Okafor, Prince Chibuike Echem, Retired AIG Chris Ezike, and Dr Ndubuisi Ochiogu. These patrons were chosen for their contributions to the union and are expected to provide guidance, encouragement, and support to the OTPU.

The OTPU comprises 31 communities from Orumba North and South Local Government Areas, with 16 communities from the North and 15 from the South. The union urged those who have not yet registered to do so quickly, as it is the only meeting that comprises every town in the FCT.

The event concluded with wishes for a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
