Police Arrest Borno Indigene Who Killed Man, 80 And 79 Year 0ld Wife

Operatives of the FCT Police Command following discreet investigation have arrested one suspect, Jonathan Marcus, an indigene of Borne state in connection with the gruesome murder of an 80 year old Adebola Ezekiel and his wife, aged 79.

The incident which was reported to the Police by neighbours happened at the deceased residence in Apo Legislative Quarters, on 1st April, 2024, at about 11:00 PM.

Parading the suspected killer and other suspected criminals on Friday, at the Command Headquarters, Abuja, the Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh psc, mni disclosed that, “Investigation led to the arrest of one Jonathan Marcus,Adebola Ezekiel, 80 years and his wife Abiodun Ezekiel, 79 years in their residence in Apo legislative quarters, on 1st April, 2024, at about 11:00 PM,

“The suspect, who was the deceased former driver was trailed and arrested in his hideout in Obajana, Kogi state, after committing the grievous crime.

“The suspect freely confessed to have gained access to the house on the same date, slit the deceased throat and made away with the phones and ATM cards of the couples. Suspect will be charged to court soon.”

Similarly, the CP stated that, “On 11/04/2024 following a tip off, police operatives from Mabushi Division arrested two suspects namely, Sadiya Abubakar ‘F’ and Mohammed Jibrin ‘M’ while they were discreetly conveying the corpse of one Bilkisu Mohammed ‘F’.

“The deceased had earlier visited the house of her supposed boyfriend, one Abbas Ramalan who eventually travelled to Kano and left her in the care of the above-named female suspect.

“The deceased allegedly fell ill and was given non-prescribed drugs by Mohammed Jibrin which led to her death. Both suspects are in custody undergoing interrogations and will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigations.”

Operatives of the Command also, “On 6th April, 2024, police operatives from Utako divisional Headquarter in a well-coordinated operation, arrested nine armed robbery suspects namely Chukwuemeka oputa, A.K.A Pounds and dollars 38 years, Rafael Dav ‘m’ 28 years , Thomas Akange ‘m’ 38 years, Adekunle Desmond 41 yearrs, Ogundipe Ayotunde 38 years, Alexander Kingsley A.K.A Tampolo 29 years, Moses Hassan A.K.A Kpalasa 28 years and Apollo Danjuma 54 years.”

During interrogation, CP Igweh noted that, the suspects freely confessed to be part of an armed robbery gang responsible for a series of robberies and other heinous crimes in FCT.

Four locally fabricated AK 47 rifles, three locally fabricated cartridge rifles, one English pistol, one Dane gun, three live rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, one live round of 5.56mm ammunition and an empty cartridge was recovered from the suspects.

According to him, the “Suspects will be arraigned in court soon.”

This is as Police operatives “On 09/04/2024 at about 1100pm on routine crime prevention patrol at Durumi IDP Camp intercepted three suspected armed robbers namely Ali Isuwa, Mathew Yohanna, and Ahmed Mohammed.

“They were arrested in possession of one English made pistol and madza Vehicle with registration Number RBC 117 EV.

“Suspect who confessed to the crime will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.”

In a related development, “On 07/04/2024, at about 4:00 PM, following the report of the theft of a phone at An Nur mosque in Wuse 2, police operatives from Maitama Division swung into action by activating the tracking of the phone which led the operatives to a location in Wuse, where the phone was recovered in an apartment housing five suspects namely Ibrahim Adamu, Muhammed Isa, Abdul Ussaini, Abdulgafar Sidi Muktar and Muhammed Ya’u.”

The CP said these suspects who came from Kano to lodge and carry out criminal activities in the FCT and other cities were arrested with 27 other phones believed to have been stolen from innocent residents.

A Mercedes Benz C300, black in colour without Reg No. and other valuables was also recovered from them. Suspect will be charged to court at the conclusion of investigation.
