If he follows his words with action the occasional bloodletting witnessed in Anambra State, especially in  Awka the state capital as a result of cult clashes will abate in no distant time.

No less that 50 people have lost their lives as a result of cult war between different groups in Awka alone in the last two years.

The State Police Commissioner, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye read riot act to cultists running amok in the Awka by vowing to crack down on them, according to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, a Deputy Superintendent of Police.

In the statement Ikenga quoted Adeoye as describing the cultists as murderers who are not fit to live among decent human beings in the society.

Adeoye also described those sponsoring the cultists  to kill humans like them as cowards who should cover their faces in shame.

He vowed that the Police Command will come down very hard on the heartless cultists who take pleasure in killing people and warned that no one should call him  for release of any cultist arrested in the coming clamp down unless such person wants to be disgraced.

To walk the talk, the Commissioner has ordered  an all out  operation against cultists and their sponsors in the State and assured the people of Anambra State that their peace and tranquility that  was punctured by the recent cult-related killings in the capital will soon be restored.

Adeoye, the statement added solicited the cooperation of all law abiding citizens  in riding the society of the menace of cultism.
