A yet to be ascertained number of persons have been killed by rampaging Boko Haram Terrorists during an attack in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The terrorists also looted and set ablaze shops and houses during the attack on Mafa village.

The Yobe State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the attack to the News Agency of Nigeria in Damaturu on Monday.

According to him, the terrorists stormed the village on Sunday afternoon on more than 50 motorcycles leaving in their wake deaths and destruction.

He said: ”We are yet to ascertain the number of lives lost in the incident, which occurred at about 4pm on Sunday in the remote village.

Babagana Goni and Bako Ibrahim, both Mafa residents, reported the incident to the Tarmuwa Divisional Police Station.

” Suspected Boko Haram terrorists armed with rifles and RPGs attacked Mafa Ward on more than 50 motorcycles and set ablaze many shops and houses.

“ The terrorists also killed many people, but we are yet to ascertain the actual number of the casualties,” the spokesman said.

He said that the gunmen also dropped some flyers with Arabic inscriptions.

Recall that at least three students of Faudiya School in Geidam Local Government Area of the north east state were shot dead during an attack by gunmen at the school last Friday.
