Vitel Wireless, Nigeria’s leading Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), is proud to announce the successful completion of its network integration with MTN Nigeria, one of Africa’s largest and most prominent mobile network operators. This milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter in providing innovative and affordable telecommunications services to Nigerian consumers.

The seamless integration with MTN Nigeria’s extensive network infrastructure enables Vitel Wireless to deliver high-quality voice, data, and value-added services across the country. This partnership underscores Vitel Wireless’s commitment to expanding connectivity options and enhancing user experiences in Nigeria’s rapidly growing telecommunications market. With this achievement, Vitel Wireless is ready to launch its mobile network services across all 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Vitel Wireless now leverages MTN Nigeria’s widespread coverage, ensuring reliable connectivity for customers nationwide. The partnership allows Vitel Wireless to introduce competitive plans, flexible packages, and tailored solutions to meet diverse customer needs. Following the NCC’s licensing of 46 MVNOs, Vitel Wireless continues to lead the way in establishing a dynamic MVNO sector in Nigeria—Africa’s largest market and most populous nation. The company has already achieved several historic firsts: the first MVNO issued a numbering plan and national and international routing codes, the first to launch a location awareness network in Africa, the first to archive interconnectivity with Airtel, Glo, and 9Mobile, and the first to achieve integration with a major MNO, MTN, as a roaming partner.

“We are excited to officially launch our services in Nigeria through our partnership with MTN Nigeria,” said Chudi Nwabueze, COO of Vitel Wireless. “This achievement reflects our dedication to delivering accessible and innovative mobile solutions to Nigerian consumers. We look forward to building a strong presence and contributing to Nigeria’s digital transformation.”

Vitel Wireless Limited is a pioneering mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in Nigeria, licensed by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to provide nationwide mobile services under the “Vitel Wireless” brand. Utilizing the spectrum and radio access network (cellular towers) of other full mobile network operators (MNOs), Vitel delivers comprehensive network services—voice, SMS, and data—across all 36 states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Vitel Wireless is committed to delivering accessible telecom services to the Nigerian market and combines innovation with advanced technology, including the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and data-driven solutions, to enhance mobile experiences. The company’s offerings range from personal safety tools to scalable solutions for government welfare programs, continually pushing the boundaries of what mobile technology can achieve for Nigerians.

MTN Nigeria is a leading telecommunications provider, serving millions of subscribers with a wide range of voice, data, and digital services. As a key player in Nigeria’s telecom landscape, MTN Nigeria is dedicated to empowering communities and fostering economic growth through technology.
