The 2023 winner of the Miss Amnesty International Pageant, Miss Vivian Kanus has won the star prize of N1Million and other consolation prizes after she emerged winner of 2023 Miss Amnesty International Pageant in Bayelsa State.
Other contestants equally used the opportunity to acquire new skills ranging from hair making and, Gele tying, Fashion Design, Catering, make up, Disinfectant Making, Soap making and Bleach Making.
Others are Art Work, graphic design, catering, Organic Soap making, baking and more.
The 12 participants who took part in exercise were camped at Green Villa Apartments for one week where they were taken on the different skills acquisition.
During the grand finale in Yenegoa, the contestants made first appearance on their skills presentation, beautifully dressed in the attire representing their skills.
Their second appearance was on all white taking on different topics like Female Exploitation, Gender Equality, Challenges of Women in Politics, Gender Roles, Gender Dysphoria, Gender Discrimination, Gender Mainstreaming, Domestic Violence etc.
Apart from the overall winner, top four participants include, Constance Christopher(Miss Amnesty Entrepreneur), Divine Onyekachi( Miss Amnesty Top Model) Marvin Lucky(Miss Amnesty Diaspora) and Emily Agundu( Miss Amnesty Peace)
The other contestants went home with Two 3 Gas Burners and one electric with Oven, Two Electric Ovens, Laptop, hair washer and dryer, Make up box with make up Items, Industrial sewing machine and a 100,000 Cash gift on Stage
The project organised by Tracy Mcwary Foundation and supported by former Minister of State for Petroleum, His Excellency Chief Timipre Sylva who was represented by Mr Tamaratare Otis.
Tracy McWary commended Sylva who is also the Governorship Candidate of All Progressives Congress ( APC ) in the November 11 Governorship Election of Bayelsa State for deepening peace and empowering Niger Delta women through the sponsorship of Miss Amnesty Nigeria 2023 Beauty Pageant.
She, noted that Sylva crisscrossed the Niger Delta to broker the Amnesty deal between the ex-militants and Federal Government, has remained committed to peacebuilding.
The foundation noted that the 2023 pageant with the theme: Equal Participation and Leadership has led to a strategic partnership between it and the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) aimed at uplifting young people of the Niger Delta through the pageant.
On his own part the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) President, Mr Jonathan Lokpobiri described the event as very important and strategic to the IYC, as it’s all about young people of the Niger Delta.
Lokpobiri, represented by Tari Agai, commended the organisers and sponsors for empowering young people through the pageant.
The IYC also requested for a Partnership with the Miss Amnesty Nigeria for Good advocacy especially against cultism and for good governance
Top entertainers, including Faze, Aproko, Barrack Pikin, Senibo Comedian performed at the grand finale.
