*Vows to ‘Fight On Until Justice is Attained’

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has declared his withdrawal from all previous agreements aimed at resolving the ongoing crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing persistent betrayal and dishonesty among key stakeholders.

In a statement titled “PDP Crisis: My Position,” personally signed and released on Sunday, Wike accused Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, of being “the architect of the party’s problems,” alleging that Makinde’s repeated breach of agreements is fueling instability within the party.

“I have now firmly decided to pull out of all agreements hitherto reached. I have decided to fight on until justice is attained,” Wike stated.

He recounted a series of meetings from a G5 gathering in Lagos to expanded consultations at former Senate President Bukola Saraki’s Abuja guest house where resolutions were reached, including the affirmation of Senator Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary of the PDP in line with a Supreme Court judgment, and the withdrawal of legal matters affecting Rivers State.

However, Wike lamented that these agreements were quickly violated, citing a recent attempt by Makinde and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah to undermine the agreed terms by pushing for Ude Okoye to replace Anyanwu, and organizing alternative NEC meetings through unauthorized channels.

“To my chagrin, Makinde connived with Peter Mba… to recommend that if Ude Okoye was not adopted as Secretary, they would pull out of the PDP,” Wike revealed, adding that such moves have led to further chaos, including INEC’s refusal to attend the party’s zonal congress in Jos due to procedural irregularities.

Wike stressed his long-standing loyalty to the PDP since 1998 and emphasized that his frustration stems not from personal ambition but from a desire to see the party uphold integrity and respect internal agreements.

“I have worked tirelessly for the survival of this party… yet those I helped into office are the ones breaking the trust,” he said.

With tensions reaching a breaking point, Wike’s public denunciation of the ongoing violations signals a deeper fracture within the PDP leadership, especially as the party gears up for upcoming electoral battles.
