The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has announced the commencement of construction for the LEA Primary School in Bagusa Community in the coming days.

During an on-the-spot assessment of the primary school, the Council Chairman, represented by his Chief of Staff, Emeka Orji, along with other aides and a team of engineers, expressed that the project is long overdue.

He outlined plans for the construction, which include temporary structures to enable students to commence their upcoming examinations this week, followed by the construction of a standard primary school building for the community.

Maikalangu emphasized that he will collaborate with the FCT Universal Basic Education Board to ensure the realization of the architectural design and the Bill of Quantities for the building.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education and other programs aimed at improving the lives of AMAC citizens.

In response, the village head of Bagusa Community, Chief Zakka Iyah, expressed gratitude for the swift intervention of the AMAC chairman in response to the community’s plea.

He commended Maikalangu for being the first elected chairman to promptly address their needs, stating that the children of the community would always be grateful for his actions.

Supervisory Councillor for Works, Hon. Dantani Zadna, affirmed that AMAC engineers are already on-site to ensure the immediate implementation of the chairman’s directive.

In addition, Councilor representing Gwagwa ward, Hon. Umar Musa Kaura, advised residents to verify information seen on social media before making statements. He reassured the community that the chairman remains accessible and engaged with his people.
