The Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, has begun distributing essential relief materials to constituents, courtesy of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The items, according to a press release from Emenike Egwusunwa, the SA Media to the legislator, the food items, include rice, garri, spaghetti, tomatoes, and seasoning cubes, aimed at cushioning the effects of recent challenges.
The distribution coincides with the Ramadan and Easter periods, described by Obika as a time for sober reflection and spiritual renewal. He expressed gratitude to NEMA for its timely intervention and emphasized the importance of collaborative governance.
Obika called for a stronger partnership between his office, federal agencies, and community stakeholders to address long-term needs. “This intervention is appreciated, but we must look beyond immediate relief,” he stated, advocating for infrastructure rebuilding, particularly schools.
The Lawmaker reiterated his commitment to facilitating emergency support and long-term projects addressing vulnerability in the Federal Capital Territory. He emphasized education as the foundation of the future, stressing the need for safe learning environments.
The relief effort is part of Obika’s ongoing initiatives to support his constituents, with plans for sustained partnership and development projects.
