Legislator raises alarm over threat to her life in Ogun after primary

‎The lawmaker representing Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency of Ogun State, Princess Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji has has raised alarm over threats to her life by a group of people after the All Progressives Congress, APC Primaries in Sagamu Local Government of the State.
‎
‎Reacting to a viral video of some group of young boys in Sagamu threatening to end her life if she doesn’t leave the town, Princess Elegbeji described the threat as worrisome and as well contrary to democratic values.
‎
‎She therefore called on the appropriate authorities, especially the security agencies and party leaders in the state to take the matter seriously.
‎
‎”This video is a threat against me. Asking me to leave the town or else, I’m not safe. I have informed the police and DSS in my area about the situation” She said.
‎
‎Princess Elegbeji said, as a peace loving person, She has consistently stood for peace, unity, fairness and issue-based politics.
‎
‎She therefore wondered why an elections should be conducted without intimidation, violence or unrest.
‎
‎Princess Elegbeji maintained that political ambition should never come at the expense of human lives, safety and the long-standing harmony within Remo Federal Constituency.
‎
‎She emphasized that the people of Remo are known for political maturity and peaceful coexistence therefore urged party members and stakeholders to take an urgent steps to arrest the situation.
‎
‎The House of Representatives member who urged her supporters ro remain calm also reaffirmed confidence in her leadership, describing her as a symbol of responsible representation and progressive politics focused on the growth and development of Remo Federal Constituency.
‎
‎Since assuming office on October 25, 2025, after her successful victory in the bye election held in August 2025, Princess Elegbeji said she remained steadfast in delivering purposeful, people-centered representation for Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North Federal Constituency
‎
‎She also reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to placing the people’s interests above all else and pledged to continuing building upon the enduring legacy of the Late Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga.
