The Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers’ Association of Nigeria (NOGASA) has again raised the alarm over incessant increases in prices of AGO (diesel) in the market, lamenting that the trends are adversely affecting oil and gas businesses, the transportation sector and the nation’s economy in general.

Benneth korie, the National President of NOGASA, who conveyed the frustrations of his members in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, saying the developments have made it difficult for suppliers to access product and loans from commercial banks for doing their business.

“This rising prices are also evidently causing veritable hardships in haulage transportation and commuters alike” he said.

The NOGASA National President therefore called on Government to intervene before it will kill the sector and derail the anticipated growth, government is working towards achieving, stressing that if not urgently checked the development will be counter productive to the aspirations of our over all national political economy.

The National President stated that the meeting of the association slated in October will take adequate steps towards finding lasting solutions to the problem.

NOGASA, he added is worried about the ugly development and is trying to understand why prices of Diesel are going as high as N950 to N1100 per litre currently in the market with a view to moderating the prices and shocks in the economy.

However, the price of crude oil as at today is 95 dollar per barell and doller exchange is racing towards #1000 per dollar. Consequently, the Nigeria refineries should be given emergency attention by government to forestall the nose diving of the economy.

The Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria has been playing a pivotal role in the oil and gas industry and will continue to ensure the availability of adequate supplies of products to Nigerians.

He said “We will continue to deliver on our mandate as we make progress in the oil and Gas Industry.

NOGASA, a premiere organisation of legitimate, organised and proficient suppliers, dealers, stakeholders and practitioners in the nation’s oil and gas sector distribution chain will continue to provide quality services for all.

He advise that suppliers should go about their respective business untill proper resolution will be taken at the meeting.
