The legislator representing AMAC/BWARI Federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at the National Assembly, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika has launched a comprehensive free medical outreach program in partnership with the De Diamond Foundation for the Needy. The initiative aims to provide essential healthcare services to all constituents, with a special focus on eye care and general health consultations, underscoring Obika’s commitment to improving healthcare access across the constituency.

The outreach program is scheduled to run for six days in various communities within AMAC/Bwari, including Bwari on 6 December 2025, Gwa‑Gwa Primary School on 7 December 2025, Mpape in Bwari Area Council on 8 December 2025, Dakwa on 9 December 2025, GSS Orozo on 13 December 2025, and Skere‑Koro Primary School on 14 December 2025. Services offered will include professional eye examinations, general health checks, basic medical treatments, and health education, all provided free of charge.

In a separate ceremony on 6 December 2025, the Fulani community in Bwari Area Council conferred upon Obika the traditional title “Hasken Fulani Bwari” (The Light of the Fulani in Bwari) during a vibrant turbaning event at LEA Tudun Fulani, Bwari. The honor recognized his inclusive and transformative leadership, highlighting his efforts to integrate and uplift the Fulani people within the constituency.
Community leaders cited Obika’s key contributions, such as appointing Mr. Sani Abubakar Muhammad as Special Assistant on Special Duties, facilitating Mr. Abubakar Muhammad Sani’s employment at the National Assembly’s E‑Library, and consistently providing empowerment opportunities to Fulani community members. These actions, they noted, demonstrate his commitment to equitable representation and development for all groups in AMAC/Bwari.

Accepting the title, Obika expressed profound gratitude, stating, “I am profoundly grateful for this recognition. I have always been committed to shining a light on the needs and potential of every community in our constituency. Now, bearing this title of ‘Hasken Fulani Bwari,’ I pledge to redouble my efforts. The light will shine even brighter for inclusion, development, and unity.”
In another development, Obika presented a vehicle to HRH Eze Ibe Nwosu, the Eze Igbo 1 of the Federal Capital Territory, at a ceremony held at the traditional ruler’s residence. The gift recognized Eze Igbo 1’s leadership and service to the community, with Obika emphasizing that the honor was merit‑based and well‑deserved.

Obika was accompanied at the vehicle presentation by Hon. Kingsley Okeke, Labour Party chairmanship candidate for AMAC, highlighting the importance of collaboration between elected officials and traditional institutions. Eze Dr. Ibe Nwosu praised Obika’s “outstanding representation” and his detribalized approach to governance, noting that his leadership is unparalleled in the constituency’s history.
Additionally, the parliamentarian handed over an official vehicle to His Royal Highness Alhaji Ismaila Muhammed Danladi, the Sarki of Karshi, during a ceremony at the Sarki’s palace. Sarki Karshi lauded Obika for “superlative and quality representation,” acknowledging his positive bills in the National Assembly and consistent focus on constituent welfare, as well as strategic appointments such as Hon. Yunusa Dangana as an aide and Hon. Idris Tanko as Special Assistant on Political Matters.
