All is set for Anambra State town unions in Abuja, under the umbrella of Anambra State Towns People Association (ASTPA) to rekindle culture through their biennial cultural celebration come Saturday, at the Velodrome, Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

This 2025 edition’s theme is: “Onulu Ube Nwanne Agbanaoso,” translates to: “Don’t hesitate to rescue your sibling/relative in time of need/difficulty,” serving as a poignant reminder of the importance of unity and support among community members.

Benjamin Okoye, the Media Committee Chairman for this 2025 edition addressed journalists in his office to tha effect over the week.

ASTPA is an umbrella body of all Anambra community associations in Abuja. The association aims to promote unity, progress, and understanding among Anambra people (Ndi Anambra) in the nation’s capital; encourage peaceful coexistence with other state associations in Abuja; project the rich cultural heritage of Anambra State, and identify problems facing Anambra State and propose solutions

The ASTPA celebration serves several purposes, including, cultural revival by rekindling and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Ndi Anambra, among which are music, dance, masquerades, and traditional attire; fostering unity, love, and progress among community members; by encouraging them to work collectively towards the development of Anambra State.

The association uses the festival to provide a platform for skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment, aligning with the theme’s message of rescuing one another in times of need; and facilitate interactions and networking among community members, stakeholders, and government officials, promoting collaboration and development

This year’s event, according to Okoye will, as usual feature: cultural performances and competitions among town unions; raffle draws with exciting prizes, cash empowerment, household items and; motivational speeches with messages from community leaders and stakeholders, including recognition for outstanding individuals and community contributions.

Similarly, in a show of appreciation, Sunday Uchendu, PhD, Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman for the 2025 edition, thanked members for their cooperation thus far, and prayed for the event’s success. He also urged members to sustain their support, noting that their efforts would be divinely rewarded.

The ASTPA celebration is a testament to the community’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage, promoting unity, and driving progress. By coming together to celebrate and support one another, Ndi Anambra in Abuja can harness their collective potential to build a brighter future for themselves and future generations.
