Dignitaries at the visit of Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Honourable Christopher Zakka (Maikalamgu) and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to Idu Community, the host community of Idu Industrial Area of the Federal Capital Territory on Sunday.

By Ekuson Nw’Ogbunka, Abuja

Concerned APC Members in Idu have reaffirmed their support for the Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka, also known as Mai Kalangu, urging him to recognize Idu Community in his next round of appointments if re-elected. The group made the call during a visit to the ancient city, host to the Idu Industrial Area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where they commended Zakka’s administration for bringing development, fairness, and inclusiveness to AMAC communities, except Idu Koro Community.

In a statement, they appealed to Zakka to consider Idu Community in his next round of appointments, to strengthen unity and enhance political participation. They also requested that official communication and engagement meant for Idu Community be directed through recognized and trusted representatives, including Hon. Hajiya Talatu Sai Mama, Comrade Tanko Wambai, and Alhaji Muhammed Salisu Galadima.

The Asugeri of Idu, His Royal Highness Mohammad Bawa Makama, who received Zakka, urged residents and indigenes of Idu community to maintain peace and unity as the FCT prepares for the 2027 Area Council election. He commended the organizers of the event and advised Zakka to continue carrying all stakeholders along, saying politics and leadership are for the people, not people for politics and leadership.
