As young Africans’ yearnings for good leadership continues to grow in their numbers, resulting in soldiers taking over the seat of power in some countries via military coup, Onitsha based journalist turned preacher and Convener of Greater Africa Prayer Movement, Prophet Theo Rays Ejikeme has declared that God has shown him the way Africa should henceforth tackle the problems of bad leadership, corruption, insecurity, poverty, wickedness, idolatry, hatred unemployment, hunger, diseases and untimely death among other negatives that have continued to ravage the black continent.
Speaking at a press conference to unveil the Greater Africa Prayer Movement with the Theme: “Identifying What God Uses For Possibilities On Problem Solution And Unleashing Them At Proper Works” Ejikeme said that God called him some years back while as a member of Christ Holy Church a.k.a Nation Builders but subsequently gave him a private nuturing with emphasis on how to address the challenges facing the black continent of Africa.
He said that Africa needs good prophets (Men of God) who can bring about the voice of God on how to solve problems not those who are more interested in acquisition of worldly things adding that he has come with the message of solution to the problems of Africa, Nigeria, Igboland down the ladder courtesy of divine revelations
According to the Prophet, Africa needs a new formula of religion and politics not unreliable bogus elections they do, not coup nor war.
“Africa needs a formula of religion and politics that can connect the people to work for the same purpose of development, same purpose of security and same purpose of prosperity and advancement under God and government not elections, not coup, nor war”. Blaming the challenges facing Africa on what he described as “poor religious and political functionaries” he used Nigeria as a case in point noting that religious organisations and government in Nigeria are working at cross purposes, running different structures and different functions and warned that such is not just good but also hurting Nigeria badly.
He said: “I see a situation where religion and politics are working for different purposes and that is very hurting Africa badly because it is like making God to work for another purpose outside the needs of the people. For instance, Christian Men of God believe that their work is to organise people for God, hold people for God, lead established structures of people for God, build expensive worship centers as Church and continue to amaze riches while government takes care of food production, the economy, security, employment and everything. That is wrong because God and the people/government are all about building a better habitation and settlement”
He further explained “What we have in Africa is idol religion and politics that are sitting idle and revolving around themselves with no vision to change anything. The Christian fold for instance are building structures everywhere just to show that they are Christians. Is that why Jesus Christ came? No Jesus came for us to be more better human beings who are creative and productive. The same thing goes with politics. They keep on building political parties and conducting elections to recycle people from one position to another. Is that the purpose of politics? No. Religion and politics should be used as tools to develop other substance, other fields, other brands, other facilities, other means like technology, food, medicine, sport, industries, create jobs and so on and so forth,
The Enugu Ezike born prophet said Africa needs a formula of religious and political functions that can empower and enable the people to work out God’s purpose for humanity to live in love and peace, make brotherhoods thrive, make good friendship work, make money, manage money, protect money, produce food and drinks, deliver affordable housing, quality education and healthcare, good roads and on general note build a safe and secured habitation and settlement. He observed that money love along with believe in secular and military power by the present world have submerged religion lamenting that religion has lost its noble roles to teach, to inform, to reveal, to groom, to guide, to protect, to find, discover, give, deliver and advance people over negative things of life.
He explained for example that Jesus Christ used religious means of truth, faith, love, giving, sacrifice, hardworking and power to teach, inform, reveal, guide, protect, doing miracle, signs and wonders in turning water to wine, healing the sick, making the blind to see’ the crippled to walk, raising the dead, feeding the hunger, helping the poor, calming the weather storm to solve all human problems but on the contrary Christians of various denominations of Churches under Bishops, prophets, pastors and general overseers among other titles and positions are working for the same Jesus Christ and expecting solution from secular and military power of government which is worldly.
At this point he called on Christian Men of God and leaders of other religious denominations to see religion as a tool to work out a better society along with government and other human structures because according to him religion is the father of politics, business, education economy and other human endeavors.
According to him, “people do what God wants or wishes them to do or become what God wants or wishes them to be. You cannot be a President or businessman if God says no to it. So Men of God should see themselves as people who God uses to guide people, guide government and business and not followers government.
“The Temple of Israel was built by King Solomon on instruction of God via a prophet, so prophets are to guide the system and not to undertake money consuming projects and amaze riches to the detriment of the economy of the people and yet expect the government to fix the economy. People are lying and stealing from government treasury and yet expect government to fix roads, pay salary, provide food, jobs, security and everything. Is that possible?. No. Prophets are not suppose to have a different structures and functionaries not in tune with the purpose of which government is meant for. It is like having two captains in one ship Africans have to be wise and careful on where we put our money”
He went further “Africa is poor unfortunately the little money we have is being mismanaged in building religious structures and running functionaries that are not in tune with each other and not in tune with what we need to make job available in the system and food available on the table, not in tune to build brotherhoods and friendship, not in tune to build a society where people are safe and secured, not in tune with the need to have quality education and affordable health care, not in tune with economic development and sustainability Take Nigeria for instance, people have a massive political structure, massive political functionaries as well massive religious and education structures and functionaries they maintain with money. Such money would make more value if channeled at developing business, jobs and food production”
He observed that “Africa is hanging in the balance because people don’t know how to work out possibilities. People cannot change government and government cannot change the people because of lack of good formula. So we need to bring about new things on board because we cannot continue to do things the same way and expect change. The new things is that governments and the religious groups have to work for the same purpose to provide jobs, produce food, affordable housing, quality education, good health care, security, job creation and so on and so forth. Sometimes you take a different route and different vehicle to make a journey. That’s what we need to do now. We keep blaming government and leadership but government and leadership are products of the functions of the people. Failure of government and leadership is just part of the failure of the people in general”
Highlighting further on the formula he said that the new formula would pay much attention on how to identify gifted and talented people and groom them, make people to be more independent in thinking, in knowledge and understanding, make people to be more independent in following God and the world, to be more creative, to make finding and discoveries, to be more productive in the areas of making money and managing money prudently and not lavishing money on structures and functionaries that are not yielding the needed results for food production, job creation and security of lives and property among other things that are good enough to advance the lives of the people
Continuing he explained “Government and leadership suppose to be a pack of people with extraordinary wisdom, knowledge and skills. And the question is, is there any arrangements from the communities, tribes, schools, Churches and Mosques to produce such people? The answer is no. We have to identify those who are gifted and talented to form government and leadership and groom them towards such assignment. We keep on going to school, going to Churches and Mosques, keep on doing elections, keep on recycling same leaders from Chairman/Mayor to Governor, Governor to Vice President or President, Senator to Governor, Governor to Senate, Minister and so on and so forth without getting to the promised land because the formula is not working
He warned that the future of Africa is in danger if Africans continue to lavish money on structures and functionaries that cannot yield the needed fruits to human needs, noting that most of the religious and political functionaries negates creation, habitation and human settlement.
Hear him “Take Igboland for instance, we have a situation where people who don’t have vast thinking are controlling other people’s thinking, we have a situation where people who don’t really know God are holding and controlling people for God. We have a situation where gigantic buildings that have no economic value, no security value, no value for productivity and no value for the future are taking over the space needed for cultivation of food and other much better valuable facilities”
Asked to air his view on the situation of things in Igboland he said that the world is looking for a more brilliant Ndigbo and consequently Ndigbo need to do more home work with right thinking and new formula to advance to higher pedestal in other to muster what it takes to deal with the challenges facing them adding that he is taking off the the Prayer Movement in Igboland with what he tagged Greater Igbo Advancement Prayer Movement. “I have taken a careful look at the situation in Igboland and prayed to God to deal the challenges facing Ndigbo and I have got the vision on how to deal with the challenges facing Ndigbo. Ndigbo need new formula of things because people cannot continue to do things the same and expect change. Sometimes you need to change route and vehicle to get to where you are going, Ndigbo want to go higher but they don’t want to change the route and vehicle. They have to change the route and vehicle by enacting new formula to be able deal with challenges facing them” he added
He called on Men of God to retrace their steps to challenge the ills of the world instead of following the world. The world is going astray and Men of God are not just watching but also enjoying the world that is going astray. That is very shameful before God. Men of God have to rise up and condemn the ills going on the world. The world is squandering a lot of money on military weapons while Africans are dying of insecurity, poverty,, hunger and diseases. That’s wickedness and Men of God are acquiring riches and watching the world live in wickedness.
He called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria other African leaders, State governors along with Christian Men of God and other religious leaders, community/native leaders, opinion leaders, social critics, NGOs and people of goodwill to accept his message and join hands with him to embark on the final journey to fix Africa assuring that Africa can overcome to live in surplus is they can enact more workable formula of things.
