The Apex Socio-Cultural Organization in Enugu North Senatorial District, Nsukka Ezue, has called on the people of the zone not to let the demand for the creation of Adada State die, especially now that review of the nation’s constitution is ongoing at the National Assembly.

Prof Damian Opata, President, of Nsukka Ezue, made this call in a communique issued after its 2024 first meeting in Nsukka.

Prof. Opata said: “The Association expresses its delight in the call for submissions of memoranda to amend the Constitution by members of the 10th National Assembly. In this respect, the Association calls on all citizens of Enugu North Senatorial District to participate in the process, especially on the provision that has to do with the process of state creation. We cannot let the demand for the creation of Adada State die. Nsukka Ezue has already set up a five-man committee to draft its memorandum for submission to the National Assembly”.

Nsukka Ezue, also applauded the smart school initiative of Enugu State Government.

The association further appreciated the State Governor, Barr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah, for the ongoing construction of smart schools in wards across the State.

Nsukka Ezue, also identified with Governor Mbah’s policy of town hall meetings, stressing that the policy will endear him to critical stakeholders in the state, as well as bring him closer to the people.

The Association further endorses all the ongoing developmental projects in the state and calls on the Governor to continue to ensure that such projects are evenly spread throughout the State.

This is as the communique equally expressed immense thanks to the President of Nigeria, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his high-level appointments to sons and daughters of Enugu North Senatorial District, with particular, reference to the appointment of Chef of Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, from this zone, the first ever in history of such high-level appointment.

Nsukka Ezue also felicitated with all elected persons at both executive and legislative levels of government, especially now that the Supreme Court has since completed and put an end to all litigations arising from the 2023 elections.

“The Association calls on all Nigerians to realize that elections are over, especially as the Supreme Court has successfully resolved all election petitions arising from the 2023 elections. It is now time for all to support Government at all levels to foster development in all sectors of the economy and uplift the welfare of the people. The Associations strongly believes that constructive opposition is a sine qua non for good governance, but cautions against the misuse of social media, veritable instruments for conscientization of the people, for name calling and sheer ventilation of anger due to loss in the 2023 elections. This is no time for campaigns, but for governance,” the communique further stated.

In conclusion, the association wished Nigerians Happy Easter and Happy Eid-El-Fitri in advance.
