Former Minister of Mines and Steal Development and the President of Master Energy Group, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, the Founder of New Nigerian Peoples Party, (NNPP), and the Founder of the Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders, NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam as well as Aare (Asiwaju) Haruna Omolajomo, the Chief Executive Officer of Harrscom Logistics Nigeria Limited, and the Executive Secretary, Association of Bonded Terminal Owners of Nigeria will be leading other dignitaries, entrepreneurs, industry players and notable practitioners to second edition (season 2) of the News Emperor magazine’s Students’Entrepreneurial Development (SED) that will be taking place on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the popular Princess (Dr.) Vicky Haasthrup Auditorium, Certified Institute of Shipping Nigeria, CISN Complex, Magbon Badagry, Lagos by 11 am prompt.
The event which is the second on series after for 2024 is coming after the first phases took place on Thursday June 27, 2024 at Rockview Hotel Apapa Lagos.
This season 2 will be chaired by Aare (Asiwaju) Haruna Omolajomo, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer CEO of Harsecom Logistics Limited, a maritime Consulting firm and also the Executive Secretary Bonded Terminals Owners Association of Nigeria (BTOAN). He is a maritime guru and an expert in logistics shipping matters.
The Special Guests of Honour at the event will be the former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the President Master Energy Group, Hon. Uchechukwu Ogah as well as the Capacity Builder of maritime industry, the Founder of NAGAFF and NNPP, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam will serve as special guests of honour at the event.
The event which is highly cherished by stakeholders and captains of industry as well as freight forwarding practitioner, has a theme: “Entrepreneurship, Career Building, and Skill Acquisition In A Conducive and Well Regulated Maritime Environment,” is coming at a time when every Nigerian and every Nigerian sector is clamouring for entrepreneurship and skil acquisition.
The two notable guest lecturers, an international maritime Consultant, Chief (Sir) Patrick Ogbo, a logistics expert and a maritime guru as well as Mr Okeke O. Okeke, Head of Department, HOD, Shipping Management, CISN who will be delivering various papers at the event.
According to the Management of Truewitness Communication and Media Services, the publishers of News Emperor and also the organizers of the event, it is meant to build Capacity, creat awareness about opportunities within the maritime domain, build skill and raise entrepreneurs and notify the government on the need for it and those in positions of authority as well as government agencies to embrace the spirit of capacity, entrepreneurship, skill Acquisition and career building for the good of Nigerian youths, graduates and undergraduate students as well as business men and women.
In a statement signed and made available by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Richword Communication and Media Services an affiliate of Truewitness Communication and Media Services, Pastor Ambrose Obioma Okehi, the one-day career building and skil acquisition seminar will see participants drawn from Nigerian Universities, maritime institutions and including SSS 3 students of some notable secondary schools (aiming to catch them young), will be brainstorming on issues that will enhance entrepreneurship, career building and skill acquisition at a one-on-one mentorship and face-to-face interactions with notable maritime experts.
Speaking further about those who are legible to participate at the event, the MD of Richword, Pastor Okehi said, “it is for aspiring young Nigerians, would-be-entreprenuers, including students from both Secondary (those with interest to build career in maritime sector) and Higher institutions of learning mostly those in maritime related courses.
While talking about the inherent benefits for the participants, Pastor Okehi, who said the seminar is being organised by News Emperor magazine in collaboration with the Certified Institute of Shipping Nigeria, CISN, said the seminar will help create awareness about the numerous potentials available in the maritime sector of the Nigerian economy. He added that the season 2 of the News Emperor magazine’s 2024 SED will provide participants with the in-debt knowledge maritime terminologies, their meanings and usage.
The CEO of Richword Communication also noted that beyond helping them to build careers among the youths, the seminar will avail the young Nigerian Entrepreneurs the greatest opportunity of tapping from the wisdom and wealth of knowledge of many maritime business men and women including shipping experts industry experts who will be converging.
