The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid el Fitri, as declared by Saad Abubakar III, President General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

He commended the faithful for their devotion, discipline, and spiritual commitment throughout the holy month, urging them to sustain the virtues of love, patience, selflessness, and peaceful coexistence which define the Ramadan period.

According to a statement by Felicia Kalu,Corps Commander Acting Corps Public Education Officer, the Corps Marshal emphasised that the values of restraint, sacrifice, and care for others are critical to promoting safety on Nigerian roads, noting that many road traffic crashes are avoidable when road users act with patience and consideration.

He therefore called on motorists, pedestrians, and all road users to imbibe these lessons, especially during the festive period, by obeying traffic regulations, avoiding dangerous driving, and prioritising the safety of lives and property.

While wishing the Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous celebration, the Corps Marshal reaffirmed the commitment of the FRSC to ensuring safer roads through sustained patrols, strategic deployment of personnel, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders nationwide.

He further urged members of the public to support the Corps’ efforts by promptly reporting road crashes and emergencies through the FRSC toll-free emergency line 122, as well as the National Traffic Radio platforms, to enable timely response and lifesaving interventions.

He concluded by encouraging all Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid el Fitri to promote unity, national harmony, and collective responsibility towards building a safer road environment for all.
