The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Thursday reported the arrest of three individuals suspected of vandalizing power line installations in Agbogwugu, Enugu State.

Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager,  Public Affairs, in a statement said the arrests, made on Sunday, March 24, 2025, were a result of a coordinated effort between community members and law enforcement agencies.

The suspects were initially detained at the Agbogwugu police station in Ozalla before being transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and subsequently remanded in prison after their first court appearance.

TCN officials are collaborating with the police to ensure the perpetrators face the full weight of the law.

This incident underscores the critical role of community vigilance and cooperation with security agencies in combating vandalism.

TCN has urged all host communities to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement or TCN offices.

Independent reports that vandalism of power infrastructure disrupts electricity supply, causing significant economic and social setbacks.

TCN’s Spokesperson argued that by working together, communities and authorities can safeguard critical power installations and ensure a stable and reliable transmission grid. Prompt reporting of suspicious activities is essential to prevent such crimes and bring offenders to justice.

The statement reads in part:”The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the arrest of three individuals suspected of vandalizing power line installations in Agbogugu, Enugu State.
“This achievement is the result of a collaborative effort between community members and law enforcement agents on Sunday, March 24, 2025.
“The suspects were initially held at Agbogwugu police station, Ozalla, then moved to the state CID and finally transferred to prison after their first court appearance. TCN officials are working closely with the police to ensure the vandals face justice.
“This incident highlights the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement to fight vandalism. We urge all host communities to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security operatives or to TCN office close to you. Vandalism is a an offence that affects everyone, undermining the nation’s efforts to provide a reliable and efficient transmission grid.
“By joining forces, we can protect our communities and ensure a robust transmission grid. Prompt reporting of suspicious activities will greatly contribute to preventing such incidents and bringing perpetrators to justice”.
