The committee is to deliver quality education through the teacher support and training for basic and secondary schools.

They are also to review existing policies, practices across the board.

“Teachers are the backbone of our education system. This committee will provide them with world-class training and support, elevating education quality.”

Mamman stated further that the Ministry is starting a new curriculum for basic education that will inculcate education and skill which requires training and retraining for teachers in skill development.

On his part, Diallo emphasised UNESCO’s commitment, noting the committee’s importance in advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and addressing key education policies.

He said their commitment was needed to support the ministry in development of policies for the teachers.

He also stated that there will be a blueprint that will guide teachers training programmes for review and assessment.
