Health insurance: Kebbi governor’s wife pays premium to 200 orphans in Kebbi

The wife of Kebbi governor, Hajia Zainab Nasir Idris has offered to pay insurance premium to over 200 orphans and indigents to the state health insurance contributory scheme.

Mrs Idris made the pledge in Birnin Kebbi during the distribution of palliatives to the needy organised by the contributory scheme where 10kg of rice and ten thousand naira were distributed to orphans and the physically challenged persons in the state.

She called on well to do persons in the society to emulate the kind gesture even as called on the public to stop stigmatising the disables in the state instead they should be given the sense of belonging like the ables.

In her efforts , however, to reduce the menace of Almajiris streets begging she also pledged to pay the sum of N 200,00 monthly to almajiri feeding programme through almajiri support initiative .

The occasion was attended by top government functionaries which include permanent secretary, women affairs ministry Hajia Aisha maikurata Tambai and a host of others.
